CLIO, Mich. (WNEM) – The Clio Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a man involved in a burglary of a jewelry store.

The Clio Police Department and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Bits and Pieces Jewelers, located at 106 W. Vienna St., in regard to a commercial entry alarm on Monday, March 18, shortly after 10 pm

Approximately two minutes after arrival, officers found the glass of the front door had been smashed and entry was gained into the building, police said.

The investigation revealed a man entered the building, smashed a display case open, and removed necklace charms, police said, adding he walked toward the back of the business and was started when the alarm system was activated.

According to police, the suspect then ran back to the broken display case, collected more necklace charms and placed them in a black, open-top bag, and ran out of the building through the same broken door.

Police said he headed westbound on foot and it is not known if there was a vehicle or additional suspects involved.

In total, 120 necklace charms were taken and are valued at $100 each, police said.
